Mary Josephine ready for action!
My beloved instrument (Mary Josephine), a copy of a Panormo/Maggini double bass made by my best mate and luthier Harry Jansen, has been back to the workshop in Amsterdam and is now ready for the upcoming festival season. Harry is well known for building world class basses, many of them owned by famous bass soloists such as Rick Stotijn, in fact the bass in the photograph above on the right (M.J's big brother!) belongs to Rick.
